window/aisle seat (n.) 靠窗/走道 的座位
window seat 是「靠窗的座位」，而 aisle 是「走廊；走道」，所以 aisle seat 就是「靠走道的座位」，要特别注意中间的 s 不发音，读做 /al/。
I prefer aisle seats because I can access the toilets more easily.我比较喜欢靠走道的座位，因为去厕所比较方便。
receipt (n.) 收据；发票
receipt 的意思是「收据；发票」，注意中间的 p 不发音，读做 /rsit/。receipt 是购买产品后，消费者收到的收据。invoice 常被误译为「发票」，但 invoice 其实是供消费者日后支付的「费用清单」。
If you want to return or exchange your item, you have to show your receipt.您必须出示发票才可以退换货。
platform (n.) 月台
platform 除了有「月台」的意思，还可以当「讲台；舞台」，火车时刻表上显示的 Plat 就代表月台。要说「火车会从第 X 月台驶离」则会用 depart/leave from platform X。
The next train for New York will depart from platform 2.下一班往纽约的火车会从 2 号月台驶离。
direct train (n.) 直达车
形容词 direct 的意思是「直通的；直达的」或「直接的」，所以 direct train 就是「直达车」。
It’s not a direct train. You have to change at Edinburgh.这班不是直达列车。你要在爱丁堡转车。
transfer (v.) 转车
transfer 动名词同形，有「调动；转移；转车」的意思，转移或转车至某处，用 transfer to swh.。此外也可以用 change 这个动词表达相同意思。
You have to transfer at this stop and take the blue line.你必须在此站转车然后转至蓝线。
害怕迷路找不到月台的 Linda，提前 30 分钟到月台等候，但等到了 8:40 分，却看到时刻表 上面写着「误点」，焦急的她便求助于一旁和蔼的老奶奶。

timetable (n.) 时刻表
timetable 在英式用法中可以指「(公交车、火车、飞机的) 时刻表」，也可以指旅行或活动的「时间表；时间安排」。
The timetable shows that the next bus will be on time.时刻表显示下一班公交车会准时到。
delayed (adj.) 延误的；延期的
delay 为动词，表示「使延误」，变成分词 delayed 则可当形容词用。时刻表上若出现 delayed 就是指班次「延误的；延期的 (误点)」，而 on time 则是「准时的 (准点)」 。
The local train is delayed again!区间车又误点了！
若要表示「延误…时间」可以用「 be delayed by + 时间」这个句型。

ruin (v.) 毁坏；毁掉
ruin 的意思是「毁坏；毁掉」，当名词若意为「毁坏；破坏」是不可数名词，若意为「废墟；断垣残壁」则通常用复数形。
