2 Down the coast of Africa

南下非洲海岸

For two long years I lived the life of a slave.

在这里两年多的时间里了我过着奴隶的生活。

I worked in escape, but it was never possible. I thought about it day and night.

我努力逃跑，但是没有从未成功。我每天都在日夜都在想这个逃跑。

My master liked to go fishing in a little boat, and he always took me with him.

我的主人喜欢乘着小船去钓鱼，而且总是喜欢带上我。

A man called Moely, and a young boy also went with us.

一个名叫莫雷的，还有一个小男孩也喜欢跟着我们。

One day my master said to us, ‘Some of my friends want to go fishing tomorrow. Get the boat ready.’

一天主人对我们说：“我的一些朋友们明天想去钓鱼，把船准备好。”

So we put a lot of food and drink on the boat,

于是我们搬了很多事物还有水到船上，

and the next morning, we waited for my master and his friends.

在第二天早上，我们等候着我们的主人和他的朋友们。

But when my master arrived, he was alone.

但是当我们主人回来的时候，就他自己。

‘My friends don’t want to go fishing today,’ he said to me.

“我的朋友们今天不去钓鱼了 。”他对我说。

‘But you go with Moely and the boy, and catch some fish for our supper tonight.’

“但是你和莫雷及这个孩子，去为我们今天的晚餐捕写鱼来。”

‘Yes, master,’ I answered quietly, but inside I was excited.

“回答，好的，主人。”我平静地回答，但我的内心很激动。

‘Perhaps now I can escape, ‘I said to myself.

“这回也许我可以逃脱了。”我心想。

My master went back to his friend and we took the boat out to sea.

我的主人回到了他的朋友那儿去了，我们坐船出了海。

For a time, we fished quietly,

一开始，我们静静地钓着鱼，

and then I moved carefully behind Molely and knocked him into the water.

之后，我小心翼翼地移动到莫雷的身后并且把他推到了海里。

‘Swim!’ I cried. ‘Swim t the shore!’

“游泳！”我大声喊着。“朝岸上游！”
